PO: Big trucks – why not a hybrid add-on?
Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008Why hasn’t someone produced an add-on for the big rigs, to capture energy from the wheels during breaking and store it for accelerating? Something that bolts onto existing wheels and drive trains?
Maybe a battery, a fuel cel, for gosh sakes, what about a compressed air reservoir? Something to capture the energy expended to break for a traffic light, and apply to accelerating on to the next obstacle.
